My Holy Grail Foundations

I have tried SO many foundations but there are two that I keep coming back to. They both serve different purposes in my makeup routine so I thought I'd give you a rundown of why I love them!

Out of the two, this is my favourite. It's an extremely light, thin liquid that both spreads and blends easily, so a little product goes a long way. Just like its name would suggest, it melts seamlessly into your complexion and looks like a second skin. That's why I like to wear this one during the day; one layer evens out my skintone without looking like I've caked on the makeup. While I'd say the coverage is light-medium, if you build up a few layers you can definitely get a more flawless result.

As someone with naturally rosy cheeks I love the fact that this foundation is quite yellow-toned, making it great at counteracting redness. It also feels hydrating and comfortable on the skin and it doesn't cling to dry patches. I do need to add a little concealer under my eyes and on any blemishes, and I always set it with powder as it leaves a slightly dewy finish.

A lot of celebrities cite this as their favourite foundation and I reckon the main reason is because it looks UH-MAZING in photos! It has no SPF so you don't have to worry about the dreaded Casper flashback face, and it makes your skin look smooth, healthy and blemish-free. For this reason, I tend to save this foundation for either nights out or days when I know I'll be taking pictures.

It's definitely heavier than Bobbi Brown's offering, so it does provide better coverage but you can also see it more on the skin. It covers darkness under my eyes well and it does a pretty good job of fading blemishes too, so often I skip the concealer. I'd say it leaves a satin finish with a slight sheen on the cheeks, so again I like to set it with a light dusting of powder. And the longevity is fab; when I wear this on a night out, I come home looking like I've only just applied my makeup!

So there are my two can't-live-without, holy grail foundations! Which foundations do you swear by?

  1. My go to is Nars Sheer Glow but I've always wanted to try that Giorgio Armani foundation! I think I've actually heard that some people find it comparable to Sheer Glow?

  5. I was recently introduced to the GA luminous silk and I don't know how I've existed without until now! I actually find it so amazingly light - I almost cant feel it when i'm applying, but it does provide amazing coverage. If you feel the Bobbi Brown is even lighter, I'm going to have to give it a try too! Thanks for sharing!

  6. I've heard so many good things about both of these foundations and have yet to try either of them. I know Amrezy loves the Luminous Silk so that was basically what intrigued me from the beginning, lol. I love foundations that feel air light but still provide a good amount of coverage so I think it's time I bite the bullet and try AT LEAST one of these. Great post, Xx

  7. Lots of people were enthusiastic sportsmen or enjoyed music and dancing. It’s possible you’ll remember that you were most joyful on the operating track. Even so, with increasing obligations you might have found almost no time to indulge in any of the interests. Are you affected by depression and want to get free from its abysmal depths without lifelong antidepresants? You could attempt and help yourself to overcome depression naturally. https://royalcbd.com/product/cbd-oil-2500mg/
